I've been looking at Mantegna's Caesar works, the rolling parades of the spoils of war bristling with grand cruelty. In particular, I've been captivated by the skylines of these ranting visual lists; punctuations of spears, banners, armour, brazier cages, trophies, flags, brooding clouds crouching on the procession.
