These 'Papa palette' forms reference Papatuanuku & the natural-coloured earth ochres/kokowai used to colour her. Created in the form of triangles to symbolise the solid and sturdy maunga & puke formations of the whenua & intended to be displayed on the wall into the triangle taaniko weaving patterns.
