Whether you want to learn a new skill or take your current passion further, our programmes and workshops are designed for artists and creative people who thrive in an engaging and supportive environment. We offer workshops in a range of media.
For things to do on Waiheke Island, you can’t go wrong with joining one of our programmes. You’ll make new friends and have fun while learning new skills along the way too.
New Zealand’s only specialised tertiary programme in Ceramic Arts is a tertiary qualification programme from the Dunedin School of Arts that is provided by Waiheke Community Art Gallery. This programme has an emphasis on exploration and experimentation. You will develop individual projects which study ceramics as a medium with its own formal language, skills and history, within a broader context of fine arts and crafts.
DEPOT and Waiheke Community Art Gallery are excited to announce the launch of Wayfind Creative on Waiheke, a nine-week programme designed to support emerging and established Waiheke-based creatives to build creative pathways and sustainable, fulfilling careers. Starting on 14 February 2025, the programme will combine in-person workshops, online learning modules, tailored mentorship, and ongoing support, equipping participants with the tools and confidence to thrive in the creative sector.
