The Walker & Hall Waiheke Art Award 2024 is proudly sponsored by Walker & Hall in association with the Waiheke Community Art Gallery.
This is a National Award for two dimensional works in any medium and has a Prize of $10,000 as the Premier Award.
The Zinni Douglas Merit Award for a Waiheke artist - $1000
Michael Evans Award for a figurative Work - $1000
Gordon Harris Award - $500 voucher
The Award recipients this year are:
Premier Award: Sonja Drake - Drawn in Sediment, watercolour paint, pencil and sediment paint on 300 gm Canson watercolour paper
Zinni Douglas Merit Award: Julia Holden - Doppelgänger (Cobi tfj Bosch), archival pigment print and oil on linen
Michael Evans Award for a figurative work: Sara Langdon - O te Ngahere, acrylic on canvas
Gordon Harris Award: Cat Fooks - Long Otto, oil and mixed media on board
Sonja Drake - Drawn in Sediment, watercolour paint, pencil and sediment paint on 300 gm Canson watercolour paper
The selector and judge this year is Mary-Louise Browne.

Friday 21 June: Entries Open
Friday 6 September: Closing date for Entries EXTENDED TO 13 SEPTEMBER
Friday 20 September: Artists advised of selection results
Friday 11 October: Selected works received at the Gallery. Gallery Hours 10am - 4pm, 7 days.
Friday 18 October: Exhibition opens 6pm
Saturday 19 October: Awards Ceremony at the Waiheke Community Art Gallery
Sunday 8 December: Exhibition Closes 4pm. Unsold works available for collection
Criteria
The exhibition is open to any New Zealand resident upon payment of entry fee (non refundable) $55. Entry requires one work per artist. Every work must be original, the sole work of the artist and not completed in a class of instruction, must have been completed within the last year and must be for sale.
