The Walker & Hall Waiheke Art Award 2021 is proudly sponsored by Walker & Hall in association with The Skin Institute Waiheke, and the Waiheke Community Art Gallery. This is a National Award for two dimensional works in any medium and has a Prize of $5000 as the Premier award. The Selector and Judge this year is Fiona Blanchard, Head of Visitor Services - Auckland War Memorial Museum.

Award Winners were announced on the 11 December in the gallery followed by a celebratory picnic.
The Gallery is open at Level 3 Step 2 with protocols in place and entry limited to 20 maximum in the gallery.

For future reference here is the entry process. To complete an entry you need to follow the sequence, submit up to three jpeg images of the single work (files no larger than 2MB) and a current CV.
If this is your first time visiting our website you will need to 'create an account'. You will also be able to pay the entry fee online. Your images go into an image gallery which is accessed by the selector. If you do not have access to a computer please contact us to submit.

You will need to complete the entry form, submit three images, an up to date CV and pay the $45 entry fee on-line. Your images will go into an image gallery which will then be accessed by our selector. If you do not have access to a computer then please contact us to submit.
The exhibition is open to any New Zealand resident upon payment of the entry fee (non-refundable). Entry is limited to one work per artist. Every work must be original, the sole work of the artist, and not completed in a class of instruction. Work must not have been exhibited previously and must have been completed within the last year. Work must be for sale and no larger than 1200mm in height or length.
This year's guest selector and judge Fiona Blanchard will decide on the finalists to be exhibited at the gallery. Artists will be advised of selection (or non-selection) by Monday 30 August 2021. From the finalists the judge will select the award winner. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The award winner and merit awards will be announced on Friday 22 October 2021. Award Ceremony details to be advised.
If your work is selected, it will need to arrive at the gallery no later than Monday 15 October 2021. This is an award for two-dimensional work in any medium. Work must be presented ready for exhibition hanging. Work must be no larger than 1200mm in height or length. Appropriate packaging, insurance and freight costs are the artist's responsibility. The Gallery reserves the right to reproduce images for publicity purposes. Poorly presented work may be disqualified.
All entries must be available for sale. The gallery commission is 41% including GST of the retail price.
Please attach to the work: The name and address of the artist, the retail price of the work (including GST), the title, size and medium. The work must be packaged adequately for delivery to the gallery and return freighting. Prepaid courier tickets or similar must be included for the return of work.

Monday 09 August: Closing date for entries
Monday 30 August: Artists advised of selection results
Friday 15 October: Selected works scheduled to be received at the gallery depending on Covid19 alert level status. Gallery hours 10 - 4pm 7 days
Friday 22 October: Exhibition Scheduled to open. Further details to be advised.
Sunday 14 November: Exhibition closes at 4pm. Unsold works available for collection.
