Matariki 2021 - He toi whakaaro, He mana tangata

19 June - 18 July 2021

Curated by Jeanine Clarkin.

Here on Waiheke we take pride in presenting an annual Matariki exhibition where the Whakatoki or exhibition theme changes each year.

Given our place in the Gulf, Te Kapa Moana, the Rahui recently put in place and development around our foreshore, our 2021 Matariki exhibition will focus on protection and enhancement of the Moana and waters of our country.

The whakatauki for 2021 is He toi whakaaro, He mana tangata, translated this refers to art and people and how the making of art relates to and enriches the well being of humankind.
