Textile Recycling Workshop with Rose McLeod

Rose McLeod, Ngai Tahu Artist in Residence 2004 and MA Fine Arts in Textiles is to lead this textile recycling workshop.
Rose is well known for her creative garments and artworks some of which are in the collection of Luciano Benetton of the world wide Milan fashion chain.
This is an opportunity not to be missed! –
especially with a view to exhibiting in Reclaim to Fame.
Rose will begin the session with a presentation on “what can be done” to recreate fashion looks.

Location: Owhanake Barn 57 Korora Rd. between 10am – 4pm & timing is flexible to suit.

There is no entry fee to this workshop however koha is always much appreciated!
A good selection of garments of similar weight to mix and match:
i.e. dresses, skirts, jacket, trousers, tops, blouses, shirts. Preferably cotton, linen, wool (mixes fine i.e acetates but not acrylics too flimsy or stretchy).
Basic sewing equipment - threads, cutting scissors, small scissors for unpicking and glass headed pins only.
Any embellishments i.e. buttons, braids, ribbons.
A canvas for collage approx 50cm x 50cm and PVA craft glue
Also those who are able to bring their own sewing machines, please do!

- a personal reconstructed garment
- a wall garment construction
- lapel and bag
