ARTIST STATEMENT:  As an artist, I have a fascination for the nature of surfaces and mediums and the  endless possibilities their interactions can reveal.    I’ve received a National Diploma in Fine Art from the Techicon of the Orange Free State  in South Africa (1992-1995) and having majored in Printmaking and Ceramics, my  painting style is mostly self taught. Although I have always been creative, I have only  recently resigned from my day job in travel to pursue my career in art full time.   This has been a liberating experience for me and has led me to completely change my  approach to my painting style. I love experimenting with new techniques and are  constantly evolving my approach in order to challenge myself and push the boundaries  of what I can achieve. The subject matter varies from portraiture and landscapes to  beetles and flowers.  “If you can’t figure out your purpose, figure out your passion. For your passion will lead  you to your purpose.” Bishop T.D. Jakes
