Gwen Rutter

Rocky Bay artist Gwen Rutter is known for her vibrant paintings of local landscape and native flora A mainly self taught artist she originally worked in watercolour for the first ten years of her painting career, painting mainly flowers and still life. These were exhibited in galleries in Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington and Christchurch. Later she progressed to acrylics on canvas painting local landscape combined with native flowers and tree working in a split-vision format. More recently she has worked in oils in the same style but also painting flowers in their natural habitat.
