You are warmly invited to come and heartily celebrate the launch of the book: 'I am Vanessa Ryan - and I have Something To Say'
Vanessa discovered poetry and the power of language in her courageous fight against illness, medical mishap and disability.
In 1998, after radiotherapy for a brain tumour, Vanessa, 40 at the time, was told she had 6 months to live.
The treatment had left her almost completely blind and memory deficit. She rediscovered the power of words and began to record her own poetry line by line on tape, and perform it by listening to her own recordings through headphones.
With the help of friends and family, Vanessa began the process of writing down her journey to share with the world.
This book is the culmination of those efforts.
